How To Play Craps

Craps is an in-person and online casino game that people love to play. Different from standard games, craps adds a new element that for many people makes it a favorite. To play craps, the players stand around crap tables. After each person places a bet, the stickman pushes the dice to the shooter, which is the person that rolls the dice. As the dice roll across the table, it hits the opposite side of the table and comes to rest displaying numbers.

The first roll in craps is called the “come out” roll and with this one of three things can occur. For example, if the dice show a number 7 or 11, then you would win the bet. When this happens, you would continue playing by rolling the dice again. Secondly, if the dice were to show a 2, 3, or 12, then you would lose, which is called “craps”. Now, even with this, you would still roll the dice again. The third scenario on the first roll would be if the dice show anything else such as 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10. This is what is referred to as “box point”.

With craps, the objective of the game is to keep shooting the dice until a box point is rolled again. However, while trying to achieve that, if a 7 is rolled, you would lose. After the game is over, a new shooter is chosen, which would be the next person standing around the crap table. At this point, a new game begins.

In addition to the rules of the game, it is crucial to understand betting associated with craps. For starters, prior to the “come out” roll, every player needs to place a bid. For this, you would put a bet on the “pass line” or the “don’t pass line”. With the pass line, you are betting with the shooter while the “don’t pass line” means betting with the house. Keep in mind that the best and most exciting way to play craps is by betting with the shooter. To do this, simply place your bets on the pass line directly in front of you.

Next, the shooter rolls the dice after all the players have placed a bet. Again, if a 7 or 11 are rolled on the first roll, then you win even money for the bet placed on the pass line. Now, if a 2, 3, or 12 are rolled, the bet you placed is lost. Remember, you would continue playing until a box point is rolled and when this happens, additional bets can be placed.

For instance, you could take odds on the pass line bet, which is done by placing the same bet amount as what you placed on the pass line, or even more. Therefore, if the shooter rolls the box point prior to a 7 being rolled, you win even money. However, you would also win 2-1 if the point number is a 4 or 10, 3-2 if the number is 5 or 9, and 6-5 for box points of 6 or 8. To get the best odds on your money, you want to place these types of odds bets.

Now, you can also place bets on the actual numbers on the crap table, which are 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10. If you go this route, you can place a bet on each number or all of the numbers - your choice. If the numbers you placed come out before a 7 is rolled, then you win. Remember that the odds of winning vary on the numbers bet. For example, if you bet 4 and 10, then you would be paid 9-5, if you bet 5 and 9, then the payout is 7-5 and bets on 6 and 8 would pay 7-6 odds.

With craps, you can make bets in a number of ways. You might consider betting “hard”, which means you are betting that the dice will show in a specific way. If you were to say the dice will display as 6, then the dice would need to be any combination to equal 6 such as 5 and 1, 4 and 2, or 3 and 3. Therefore, while some gamblers enjoy the challenge of betting the hard way, you will find that backing bets with odds and playing numbers is the best way to win, meaning that you should stay with the pass line betting
